KVFC provides Mutual Aid to Bloomingdale FD at a house fire on Main Street

Kinnelon’s RIT team responded to Bloomindale Friday January 16th to supplement the fire crews from Bloomingdale, Butler and Riverdale operating at the scene a a house fire at 33 Main Street in Bloomingdale.  The fire took almost an hour to extinguish.  Coffee and a warm retreat was supplied by meighboring Liquor City.  Triboro First Aid Squad stood by to assist with firefighter rehab.   1st Responder article and  Photos

Kinnelon responds to head on collision on Kinnelon Road

Kinnelon Fire, along with KPD, DPW, St Claire’s Paramedics, Butler FD, and Morris County Sherrif’s officers responded to a head on collision of a pickup truck into a Dump truck on Friday, January 16th, 2009.  The Daily Record reports here

Chief Gail Bresett, 1st Asst Chief Jim Bosch and 2nd Asst Chief Adam Barish were sworn in at Monday January 5th, 2009 Borough council’s reorganization meeting.  Line Officers for 2009 are Company 1: Captain Bill Allen, 1st Lt. Frank Pirog, 2nd Lt. Tom Stearn; Company 2: Captain Terry Stagg and Company 3: Captain John Tsinkelis and 2nd Lt. Ed Whiteman.  Corporation Officers include President Gary Santaniello, Vice President Glenn Sisco, Recording Secretary Alex Merlucci and Corresponding Secratary Jeff Bresett.

Santa Visits Kinnelon

Santa used his magic today and was able to be in six places at the same time! Above is Santa 35. Thanks to his many volunteer elves he was able to cover the whole borough in about four hours meeting children and handing out candy canes.  We’ll be looking for him again in a couple of weeks. His early visit to Kinnelon is always a highlight for the community.

Bloomingdale FD invites KVFC to drill at the Sussex County Fire Academy

 

Sunday October 5th, 2008 Kinnelon’s Volunteers spent their morning practicing “Truck work”, throwing ladders, practicing VES – Vent Enter Search, climing Bloomingdale’s aerial and venting the roof.

Kinnelon’s Tanker 2 “crabbed” it’s way down Main Street at Boonton’s 2008 parade held Saturday Aug 30th.  Terry Stagg, Jeff Bresett and Alex Merlucci participated.

KVFC drills at Smoke Rise Community Church

The Kinnelon Vol Fire Co. took last Monday night to review it’s plans and practice good ‘ole fire attack at Smoke Rise Community Church.  Simulated fires in the library on the first floor and the kitchen in the basement kept the firefighers busy.  The fire company’s smoke machine added to the realism.

KVFC’s Technical Rescue team practices it’s skills

KVFC’s rope rescue team continues to add members and maintain its skills in high and low angle rescue.  This past Sunday members practiced using their harnesses, lowering and rapelling techniques.
